This sleek looking hydroplane was previously raced in Spokane, Washington, USA. Under the name of “Mr Jiggs Racing”. This very fast and beautifully prepared boat is now driven by Miniquip founder John Fenton, a member of the WASBC, that mostly races on the Swan River opposite the Burswood Casino in the city of Perth Western Australia.
On asking John why he choose hydroplane racing as a sport, he simply answered;
"Its a very fast sport, you know you’re alive when you slide into the enclosed cockpit and hit the start button, your heart beat raises instantly, Theres a lot of people working together within our local club to promote the sport and its a sport that involves the whole family and that support contributes to the success of the team.
The business end of the boat is powered by a 6.0 litre Chev engine releasing over 550 Horsepower, the boat literally flies across water at speeds in excess of 180kph. Currently, John is looking to represent sponsors and the WASBC at various national meetings in the 2010-2011 race season.
