Junior Power Boat Racer Matthew Fenton takes delivery of his new "Formula Future" 15HP Raceboat.
Matthew is one 13 year old boy on a mission! He and his crew member and good friend Brayden Cowlin clean, prepare and race their immaculately presented boat with the same pride as any of the larger boat teams.
Competing with other skilled and upcoming junior drivers from the W.A.S.B.C these junior racers aged 9 to 16 years old are one great bunch of young people enjoying the camaraderie whilst gaining the driving skills which are instrumental to them, should they decide to continue the sport after the age of 16 years.
History shows a lot of drivers do go on to enjoy the Fast & Furious pace of the bigger boat classes including the Grand Prix Hydroplanes, F1 Tunnel Boats and supercharged eight cylinder displacement hull boats – all doing well over 180km/h! – yes, on water!
If you would like to see these young drivers and some of the bigger race boats perform, check out the W.A.S.B.C website for race meeting dates. Bring the whole family and a picnic basket alternatively, refreshments are available for purchase at the venue.
Matthew wishes to thank the many people and companies that have contributed in the build and construction of his magnificently presented little racer.
And a special thank you to his close friend and crew member Brayden Cowlin, that keeps him on the water on race days!
